Faith-based movie filmed mostly in nearby Menifee Co. will premiere at Tenth Frame

Two Montgomery County women have starring roles in a new film that debuts Oct. 9-15 at Tenth Frame Cinema.

Ebie Adkins and Ellie Bowlin, who both live in Montgomery County, play major characters in “Gone 2: Unshakable Faith,” the latest installment in EchoTV’s faith-based drama franchise.

The movie was mostly filmed in Menifee County with some scenes shot in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.

It continues the story of those left behind following the rapture as they struggle in a world increasingly hostile to faith, according to a release.

Adkins, who also serves as EchoTV’s president, plays Emily, who is left behind after turning away from God and loses nearly everything before finding hope and companionship with another character, the release said.

Adkins previously played a role in the Wesley Mullins directed movie, “M30 Oxy,” filmed in Menifee County.

In “Gone 2,” Adkins plays the lead character, with emotional scenes focused on abuse of her character by others.

Bowlin plays Sydney, another survivor, who faces devastating loss and persecution that puts her newfound faith to the test, the release said.

As their stories converge, they discover that following Jesus requires more than survival—it requires surrender. With no safe road back, they must decide whom they will serve, who they can trust and what defines unshakable faith, according to the release.

Bowlin, an aspiring local actress, said she found the character of Sydney a welcome challenge because of the complexity of the character.

She said she essentially plays three versions of the character.

Bowlin’s credits include the yet to be released feature film “Ethan Almighty” which is in post production.

Bowlin has roles in two upcoming productions, including the musical “Bluegrass Rhapsody” and “A Bad Influence,” which recently wrapped shooting in Lexington.

Menifee County Judge-Executive Hector Alcala and former Menifee County Sheriff Rodney Coffey also have roles in “Gone 2,” which draws on a large cast of everyday citizens playing critical parts, Adkins said.

Adkins and Bowlin said the viewing public will like the fast pace of the movie.

Adkins said there was a family-like atmosphere on the movie set that made shooting for the non-profit film special.

“Gone 2” is part of EchoTVs commitment to creating Christ-centered entertainment that challenges audiences to explore their own faith, the release said.

While the movie is faith-based, Adkins said it also tackles other relevant issues the public has to face in their own lives, such as cacner.

Whether a believer or not, Adkins said the public will be drawn to the story taken from the book of Revelation in the bible.

Both believe the public will enjoy the story, the scenery and cast of people they might know.

The movie was primarily written by Dave Siriano, an Orlando, Fla, script writer who contacted Adkins about filming in Kentucky several years ago, Adkins said.

EchoTV would like to shoot future projects in Montgomery County if suitable locations can be found, she said.

After the premiere, the movie will be available to audiences worldwide on EchoTV’s subscription-free and ad-free streaming platform across the web, mobile device, Roku, Apple TV and other streaming devices.

Adkins said several special events are planned throughout the premiere weekend, including a meet and greet with the cast Saturday.
