A Jeffersonville home was saved but suffered considerable damage following a Wednesday evening fire.
According to information provided by Zach Adams, a battalion chief for the Montgomery County Fire Dept., units were dispatched to 8590 Main St. Jeffersonville at 6: 12 p.m. to a reported structure fire with flames coming from the side of the house.
Engine 3, engine 1, tanker 2, engine six and battalion 1 responded with 16 personnel.
When units arrived, the house had heavy fire involvement. The fire was extinguished without incident or injury using approximately 5,000 gallons of water, according to the information provided by Adams.
The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The homeowner reportedly had been cleaning yard debris around the property earlier in the day and had a pile of brush burning 60 feet from the residence, the information provided by Adams states.
The homeowner belives that an ember possibly traveled and started the fire.
The home was saved, but had considerable fire damage.
Adams said the homeowner is listed as Brian Stalker and the home was insured.
