William David Campbell, 72, of Mt. Sterling, died Monday, July 13, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling.
Born May 30, 1954, in Mt. Sterling, he was the son of the late John T. and Stanley Reed Campbell. He worked for Walker Construction for 42 years before retiring. He faithfully served the Lord as a minister for 23 years and was presently serving the Howards Mill First Church of God congregation.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Connie Martin Campbell of Mt. Sterling; son, David Randall Campbell of Madisonville; four sisters, Joyce Campbell of Mt. Sterling, Freida Montgomery and Carrie Liggett, both of Jeffersonville and Marie Reed of Stanton; and brother, Ricky Campbell of Jeffersonville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Maudie Campbell, Sonia Campbell and Elenora Grooms; and four brothers, Paul Campbell, James Denver Campbell, John T. Campbell Jr. and Leonard Wayne Campbell.
Service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, July 17, at Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals with Jimmy Daulton and Chris Williams officiating. Visitation was 5-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
Pallbearers will be Josh Christian, Tony Ingram, Josh Corey, Austin Hendrix, Earl Stacy, Trey Lambert, Blake Ingram, Robert Fields and Ryan Spence.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Howards Mill First Church of God.
