MSPD arrests 3 on drug charges after lengthy investigation

From the Mt. Sterling Police Dept:

On, June 6th, 2026, officers and detectives from the criminal investigations unit carried out several arrests tied to alleged narcotics trafficking These arrests stemmed from a lengthy investigation that began at a local hotel. That day, officers pulled over the individuals after they returned from Lexington KY, where they had allegedly gone to pick up more narcotics.

K9 Officer Powell and his partner, "Butan," alerted the vehicle, prompting a search of the car and its occupants. Officers reportedly found additional narcotics, which, combined with the controlled buys, to a total  weight of:
151 grams of methamphetamine
11 grams of fentanyl
31 unidentified pills (possibly pressed fentanyl pills)

The following individuals were charged:

Anthony Charles - 46YOA, Owingsville, KY
Dylan Honshul - 24YOA, Mt. Sterling, KY
Arthur Johnson- 34YOA Clay City, KY

Charges include:

TICS, 1st degree, 1st offense, heroin
TICS, 1st degree, 2nd or > - (>or = 2gms methamphetamine)
TICS, 1st degree, 1st off. -(> or= 10 dosage units, drug unspecified)
TICS 1st degree, 1st offense- (>or = 2gms methamphetamine)
Drug paraphernalia - buy/possess
