Thressa “Tessie” Rose Young, 76, of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at home.
Born April 2, 1950, in Hazel Green, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ruby Patrick Rose. She retired from Chrysler after working there for 30 years. Two of her passions in life were gardening and quilting, growing beautiful flowers and making even more beautiful quilts for her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Mike (Penny) Rose of Davenport, Fla.; partner, Harry Bowen of Jeffersonville; three step daughters, Tina Shrock, Robin Rose and Kelly Ramsey, all of Indiana; five sisters, Cleo Crase of Carlisle, Ohio, Mary Ann Fraley of Mt. Sterling, Judy Hillard of Georgetown, Fern Bridges of Stamping Ground and Vicki Miller of Georgetown; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Young; sister, Genelle McKeehan; and five brothers, Justice Rose, Jimmy Rose, Gene Rose, Bobby Rose and Danny Rose.
Service was conducted Friday, April 10, at Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals with Chaplin Dan Connell officiating. Burial was in Russiaville, Ind.
