The Montgomery County Library offers a multitude of  weekly ongoing programming and other activities.

Weekly school readiness programs at the Mt. Sterling branch of the public library provide an opportunity for pre-readers and early readers to come together for socialization, stories and a variety of themed learning. Participants read, sing, dance and learn through interactive play at library Tot-Time programs each Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Activities at this program are geared toward children ages 18 months to 3 years old.

Young people from 3 to 7 years old can enhance school readiness and social development through books, educational songs and crafts and activities each Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. during Story Hour.

Creation Station on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. features come-and-go self-guided activities so families can stop by anytime between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. to participate. This creative and fun learning opportunity includes different stations for hands on activities, games, arts or creativity, books and STEM exploration.

The library offers a variety of evening programs for individuals to attend. Kids can connect with other players and learn to collaborate and build a world together at our Minecraft Meetup program on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:30-6:30 p.m. Laptop space is limited.

Young people of all ages can create, design, engineer, build and present their creations at the LEGO Night program on the third Tuesday of the month at 5:30-6:30 p.m.

The library offers a Homeschool Meetup group for K-12 students and their guardians at the Mt. Sterling Library on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. Students and parents come together to socialize, learn and develop skills. Each week features a different educational theme.

Visit us at our Camargo branch on the second Monday of every month from 11:00 a.m.-noon for our Spill the Tea program for teens and adults. Join us for a cozy gathering with fellow readers to share our love of books over a warm cup of tea. Whether you’re into thrillers, romance, nonfiction or anything in between, come chat about your current reads, swap recommendations and leave inspired with new ideas about what to read next.

The Montgomery County Public Library offers three book clubs that feature different preferred book types, topics and themes—the Book Besties, the Dangerous Creatures Book Club and the Camargo Book Club. The Book Besties book club meets in-person at our Mt. Sterling branch on the first Monday of each month at 5:30-6:30 p.m. Our Dangerous Creatures Book Club meets through Zoom on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.

Our Camargo Book Club meets at our Camargo branch on the third Thursday of the month at 1:30 p.m. Stop by any of our branches to ask pick up our book of the month for any of our book clubs, and participate in one or all of our regular clubs.
