Four seniors will represent Montgomery Co. and Hazard High School as candidates for the 79th Recreation Bowl Queen.
Each school’s football team selects two seniors who best represent the spirit of their school and community. The candidates will be recognized during halftime of the Recreation Bowl, when one will be crowned queen, succeeding reigning Recreation Bowl Queen Ellie Lewis.
Montgomery Co.’s Sophia Fouch is a multi-sport athlete, student leader and active community volunteer who plans to attend Centre College and major in economics/finance.
Montgomery Co.’s Kayley Jackson serves as captain of both the Lady Indians soccer and cheerleading teams and is active in numerous school and community organizations, with plans to study nursing at the University of Kentucky.
Hazard’s Braylynn Eddington competes in basketball and softball, serves on the school’s leadership team and has been active in numerous community service projects, with plans to pursue a degree in education.
Hazard’s Kaydence Stollings is a member of the volleyball and softball teams and school leadership, while also volunteering throughout her community, and plans to pursue a career in nursing or sonography.
Prior to the game, the four candidates will be treated to a dinner at the home of Boone and Lucy Razor with members of the Recreation Bowl Queen Committee and will receive school sashes, flowers and gifts from local businesses.
The 2026 Recreation Bowl Queen Committee includes Lacy Carrington-Gross, Lucy Razor, Sheena Bromagen, Sarah Farrow, Rebecca Morton, Richelle Bach, Lainey Neal and Sarah Woodford.
The Rec Bowl is Aug. 22. It begins at 7:30 p.m. at Cunningham Field.
