Introducing MCAS Doggie Day Out!
Montgomery County Animal Shelter is excited to launch our Doggie Day Out (D.D.O.) Program!
This program gives our shelter dogs a much-needed break from kennel life by allowing approved participants to take a shelter dog out for a few hours of fun, exercise, socialization, and adventure right here in Montgomery County. Whether it's a walk in the park, a trip for a pup cup, or simply spending time relaxing outside the shelter, every outing helps improve a dog's well-being and increases their chances of finding a forever home.
Doggie Day Out is an extension of our P.E.E. Program (Playgroups, Exercise, and Enrichment) and is designed to provide positive experiences for dogs waiting for adoption.
Benefits include: Mental and physical enrichment for shelter dogs
Valuable socialization opportunities
 Increased community engagement
 Better adoption outcomes
A chance for residents to make a difference without a long-term commitment
Participants must complete an application and follow all program guidelines. Approved dogs will be vaccinated, behaviorally assessed, and ready for their special day out.
If you've ever wanted to help a shelter dog but aren't able to foster, this is a perfect opportunity!
Contact Montgomery County Animal Shelter for more information or to request an application.
A few hours of your time can make a lifetime of difference for a shelter dog.
