Rexford Eugene Wells, 95, of Mt. Sterling, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at his residence.
Born May 18, 1930, in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Lula Weddington Wells. He attended Grassy Lick Independent Methodist Church. He was a farmer and member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Denzil Wells of Mt. Sterling; daughters, Glenda White of Mt. Sterling and Libby Clark (Bill) of Winchester; grandchildren, Cathy Dodge (Brian), Stephanie White, Allison Lewis (Randy), Jessica Davis (Tim), Ryan Wells (Holly), Brandi Downs (Bradley), J.R. Wells (Lori) and Eugene Wells; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris King Wells; son, Gary Wells; siblings, Randy Wells, James Wells, Derb Wells, Walter Wells, Aubrey Wells, Denzil Wells, Florence, Lucille, Venus, Alvis, Rosemary, Nell, Sharon, Betty Haney and Juanita; and grandchild, Michael Clark.
Service was conducted Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Grassy Lick Independent Methodist Church with Rev. Jesse Kline and Pastor Terry Rueger officiating. Burial was in Grassy Lick Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Randy Lewis, Ryan Wells, Alex Parks, Ryan Parks, Joey Christopher and Tim Davis.
