Public invited to help decorate gravestones in Olive Hill/Lincoln View cemetery as part of local Juneteenth celebration

From DuBois Community Center
You are invited to join the DuBois Community Center for a Juneteenth celebration on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Olive Hill/Lincoln View Cemetery on East Locust Street, where we will pay tribute to Colored Civil War Union Soldiers by decorating their grave stones with Juneteenth flags.

Remarks will be by Jay Scott, McKenna Revels and Jay Scott.

You can contact Vicki Cox at 904-616-2430 or Taunya Jones at 859-585-8751.

The Colored Civil War Soldiers’ graves were cleaned by DuBois Volunteers and Leaders and the MOCO ROTC about 5 years ago. We need as many people as possible to come and learn more about Montgomery County men who fought for their freedom and others especially the young folks. We would love to offer a free basketball rental to a group of young people who come out and attend.
