Protect pets from weather; loose straw available at shelter

From Montgomery County Animal Shelter:

Severe Winter Weather Alert – This Weekend

Montgomery County residents, a severe winter storm is expected to impact our area this weekend. We urge everyone to take precautions now.

 Protect Your Pets
If you have outdoor pets, please bring them indoors if at all possible. Extreme cold, wind, and precipitation can be life-threatening. If pets must remain outside, ensure they have adequate shelter, fresh (unfrozen) water, and extra bedding.

 Free Straw Available
Loose straw is available FREE at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter to help provide warmth for outdoor animals.
• You must bring trash bags or your own container
• Straw is loose and not baled
Check on Loved Ones
Please take time to check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may need assistance during the cold temperatures.
Let’s look out for one another—people and pets alike—during this severe weather event. Stay safe and warm.
