Phyllis Lawson Collins, 90, of Mt. Sterling, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 5, 2026, at home.
Born Jan. 6, 1936, in Wolfe County, she was the daughter of late William and Lucy Lawson. She was the office manager for their family business, Collins Builders. She loved U.K. basketball, horse racing and entertaining people. She was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Tina Collins of Mt. Sterling; granddaughters, Sylvia Collins of Mt. Sterling and Stephanie (Ian) Jones of Virginia; great-granddaughters, Kennedy Jones of Virginia and Shilo Collins Daughtery of Mt. Sterling.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Milbert “Buddy” Collins; and son, Timmy Collins.
Graveside service will be conducted at 12 noon, Friday, April 10 at the Machpelah Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Stephanie Moon officiating.
