Johnnie Tabor, 90, of Jeffersonville, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at the Windsor Care Center. 

Born July 29, 1935, in Jeffersonville, he was the son of the late Woodford and Ressie Alsept Tabor.  He worked hard in construction, building many homes in the area with the Tabor Builders Construction team. He was a member of the Baptist faith, Masonic Lodge #23 and Oleika Shriners of Lexington.

Survivors include two sons, Johnnie Howard (Jenny) Tabor and Kirby (Marsha) Tabor;  six grandchildren, April (Bryan) Lawson, Megan (Jeremy) Greene, Sarah (Brandon) Thorpe, Brandi (Eric) Cook, Maci (Jared) Daniels and Spencer (Sydney) Tabor; four great-grandchildren, Mason Lawson, Shelby Lawson, Kyra Wheeler and Jameson Daniels; a brother, Bobby Tabor; three sisters, Anna Marie Montgomery, Phyllis Craig and Dessie Howard; and special care givers, Tonya Ratliff, Evelyn Asher, Jeanie Phelps and Paula Thorpe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Caudill Tabor; a son, James Doodle Tabor; and several brothers and sisters.

Service was conducted Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals Chapel with Charles “Hammer” McGuire officiating.  Burial was in the Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Eric Cook, Bryan Lawson, Mason Lawson, Jared Daniels, Spencer Tabor and  Brandon Tabor.
