Northview Elementary School acted out a scene from "The Jungle Book" April 27 during a Student Demonstration of Learning as part of the School Spotlight segment of the board of education meeting.
Several students participated in bringing the scene to life for the school board.
The students also outlined what they are doing in the school's new drama club, which put on the production at the school.
They were encouraged to write and draw things they remember from the production on sheets of yellow and green sheets, the students said.
As part of the demonstration, fourth grade students showed what they have learned about the differences between translucent, transparent and opaque forms of light.
Kindergarten students explained what they have learned through "Hearts Around the World," which is designed to help them understand the context of the local and global community and learn how to become engaged citizens.
Second grade students talked about their experiences learning to write letters as part of a pen pal project with Sterling Meadows residents.
Students said they asked questions and learned a lot from the residents there.

One fictional company sold sting patches for use by those who suffer bee stings. Another created the Loving Lunch Boxes for boys and girls.
The students explained how much they would make with a public investment in their companies.
Board members complemented the students on their efforts.
