Next week is Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

From Montgomery County 911 Dispatch:
The week of April 12th - 18th is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW). It is meant to celebrate telecommunications personnel across the nation who serve their communities, citizens, and public safety personnel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This group of professionals are never seen, but always heard. They work long hours (usually 12-hour shifts) over the course of several consecutive days. They are always there to guide the public through their emergency situation, and to ensure that first responders are able to navigate their shift safely.
