Nettie Iker Centers, 83, was a loving mother and grandmother, whose greatest joy in life was spending time with the people she loved most, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026. She will be remembered for her sweet nature,  loving heart, and the countless ways she cared for her family throughout her life.  She was a lifelong member of Reid Village Baptist Church.  She spent some time working at Carrington Pharmacy and JCPenney in her small town, adding another chapter to a life centered on helping others.

She was a proud mother to her three children, David Centers, Mary Kazi (Mo) and Jason Centers (Nicki).  She was also a loving grandmother to Rebecca Kazi Wierzbicki (Evan), Allyson Centers and Jesse Centers, who held a very special place in her heart.  Also surviving is a sister, Nellie Bellamy of Mt. Sterling.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesse Centers; parents, Joe and Bertha Iker; sisters, Virginia Iker, Mina Iker, Mae Iker Rose, Maudie Parker, Lucy Stockdale, Lily Story, Annie Vivian and Bessie Rader; and brothers, George Iker, Robert Iker and John Iker.

She devoted much of her life to caring for her family.  Nothing brought her greater happiness than being surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Nettie leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and will forever treasure the time they were blessed to share with her. While saying goodbye is never easy, they can find comfort in knowing that the love of a mother and grandmother never truly leaves.

Service was conducted Tuesday, Oct. 20 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Wiley officiating.  Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
