Good morning,

A low pressure system and associated cold front will gradually move across the Ohio Valley region today and tonight, with the cold front expected to move into VA around midnight tonight. Much of eastern Kentucky remains in a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe weather due to the potential for severe wind gusts from storms this afternoon and evening ahead of the approaching cold front. Eastern Kentucky remains in a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 4) of Excessive Rainfall today for a heavy rainfall and isolated to scattered flash flood potential.

From Montgomery County Emergency Management:P

WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS / IMPACTS:

A few showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall should affect portions of eastern Kentucky this morning. Greater coverage of showers and thunderstorms is expected during the afternoon and evening hours.

Strong to damaging wind gusts and torrential downpours leading to heavy rain and flash flood risk are the primary hazards. These risks peak this afternoon/evening.

Isolated to scattered flash flooding is possible if/where storms move repeatedly over the same locations, particularly if they pass over areas that were impacted by heavy rain at the end of last week.

Stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.
