From the Mt. Sterling Police Dept:
Want to help your community if your home or business security camera footage could be useful? We’re excited to announce our new “Camera Registration Program”! This program creates a database of businesses and residences within city limits, making it faster for investigators or officers to locate working surveillance systems.
For example, in cases like burglaries or vehicle break-ins, officers currently go door-to-door looking for residents willing to share footage. With this registration, supervisors can quickly check the area for potential cameras that might hold crucial evidence, saving valuable time. Often, time is lost checking properties with non-working cameras or when owners can’t be reached urgently.
Rest assured, this program does NOT allow us access to your system. It’s completely voluntary, with information kept securely within the MSPD and accessible only to supervisors. Your details won’t be sold or shared with anyone.
Simply scan the QR code and follow the steps to register. Or go to our web page at mtsterlingpd.com, click resources and follow the link.
By working together, we can make our community safer, building on the strong partnerships and trust we already share with residents and business owners. We can’t do it alone and truly appreciate your support.
Thank you!
