Michael T. Canan, 63, passed away peacefully after a short illness, Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025.
Born Jan. 20, 1962, in Mt. Sterling, he was the son of the late John L. and Virginia Canan. He was a proud graduate of La Lumiere School, Wabash College, and a member of Kappa Sigma. He began his career in the automotive industry with Kain Family Ford and continued on to a long career with JM&A Group as a dealer advisor, where he was awarded the Star of Excellence Award a record four times.
Survivors include his siblings, Sheila Canan Palmer, Pamela Canan Ruchka and Kevin L. Canan; many nieces and nephews; and many, many wonderful life-long friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, William T. Canan.
Celebration of life will be held 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, at Malone’s Banquets, 3373 Tates Creek Rd., Lexington, Ky., 40502.
