Marcus Arnie Hurst, 69, of Maysville Avenue, Mt. Sterling, died Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at his residence.
Born Aug. 3, 1956, in Mt. Sterling, he was the son of the late Leonard Ray Hurst and the late Mary Lou Vice Garrell. He was a retired construction worker for the Davis H. Elliot Company and had attended Southland Christian Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela Hurst (Jesse Hawkins) of Mt. Sterling; two sisters, Judy Holtman (the late Jim Holtman) of Louisville and Teresa Barnett (Chris) of Mt. Sterling; seven grandchildren, Logan Easterling, Austin Hurst, Brandon Hurst, Braxton Centers, Destiny Hawkins, Gracelynn Hawkins and Christian Hawkins; and a great-grandchild, Luna Easterling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Nancy Hurst; a son, Marcus Scott Hurst; a sister, Linda Rae Ferguson; and a half brother, Leonard Allen Hurst.
Service was conducted Tuesday, March 17 at Powell Funeral Home in Salt Lick with Bro. Larry Morrison officiating. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Davis, Jesse Hawkins, Braxton Centers, Phillip Boyd Jr., Ricky Jones and Justin Setters.
