Local woman allegedly illegally receiving OxyContin pills through mail

From the Mt. Sterling Police Dept:

**Narcotic Trafficking Arrest**

On 2/5/2026 Detectives with the Mount Sterling Police Department received information from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in reference to a person in Mount Sterling illegally receiving 80mg OxyContin pills through the mail. Detectives conducted an investigation and on 2/6/2026 charged Amber Back (Age 41: Mount Sterling) with:

1. TRAFF IN CONT SUB, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFF - (> OR = 10 D.U. OPIATES)

This investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow.

This arrest is another example of the Mount Sterling Police Departments continued efforts to combat illegal/ dangerous drugs from entering our community and hitting our streets.
