Edward Gene Stull, 84, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, at the Fountain Circle Nursing Home.

Born Feb. 24, 1942, in Mt. Sterling, he was the son of the late Henry and Rosie Thompson Stull.  He was known for his sharp intellect and dedication as an industrial engineer with a long-standing career at A.O. Smith, where he made significant contributions.  His passion for his work was matched only by his love for family and friends.  A proud Kentucky Colonel, he was a man of deep faith, grounded in the Christian tradition. He embraced life’s simple pleasures, enjoying leisurely afternoons on the golf course, cheering for the University of Kentucky basketball team, and rooting for his favorite NASCAR drivers.  He often found joy in watching classic Westerns, and sharing laughter and stories with his loved ones.

Survivors include his beloved daughters, Dina Stull Thorne and Crystal Stull Brashear (Shayne); grandchildren, Ashley Thorne and Nicole Thorne Evans (Joel); great-grandchildren, Jayden Ritchie, Olivia Purvis, Rylan Purvis, Lily Purvis and Jordyn Vance; siblings, Carolyn Stull Walters (d. Bobby Walters) and Janice Stull Miller (d. Orville Miller Jr.); and numerous other family members.  All will carry forward his legacy of kindness and dedication to family.  He leaves behind a community that will miss his warmth and infectious spirit.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diana Shrout Stull.

The family will honor his life and legacy in a ceremony that will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 9 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.  Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m..  An opportunity for all who knew him to pay their respects and celebrate the remarkable life he lived.

As we reflect on his journey, we remember a man who exemplified strength, wisdom and unwavering love.  May he rest in eternal peace.
