Voters will go to the polls beginning Thursday to cast their ballots in the May primary.
On the Republican side, Montgomery County voters will choose the next state representative for the 74th legislative district.
The candidates are Aaron Williams, Shannon Denniston and David Charles. There is no one running on the Democratic ticket so the winner of the primary will take the seat.
The state Rep. serves Montgomery, Bath and Menifee counties.
Republican candidates for county commissioner in District 1 are Jon Kelly Johnson and Joshua Davis.
The winner of that race will take on Democrat Floyd Arnold in the November general election.
Republican incumbent Daniel Carmichael is unopposed in District 2.
Republican candidates in District 3 are Clayton Neal, Steven Dewayne Hager and Mark Terry. Robbie Elliott appears on the ballot, but withdrew to run for Jeffersonville mayor.
The deadline to file for non-partisan school board and municipal elections is June 2.
Republican candidates for jailer are Mason “B.J.” Hatton, Billy Stull, Kevin Carroll and Elizabeth Willoughby.
The winner will face Democrat Randy Brewer in the fall.
Democrats will choose a candidate for U.S. Representative in the Sixth Congressional District.
Appearing on the ballot are Harvey Carroll Jr., David Kloiber, Erin Petrey, Cherylnn Stevenson, Jimmy Clifton Ausbrooks, Corey Edwards and Zach Dembo.
Republican candidates in the primary are Gregory George Plucinski, Adam Perez Arquette, Ralph Alvarado, Steve Shannon and Ryan Dotson.
Republican candidates for U.S. Senate on the ballot are A. Nick Shelley, Arissa Catlett, Daniel Cameron, Jimmy L. Leon, Jonathan M. Holliday, James D. Duncan, Other Donald Wenzel, George Washington, Michael James Faris, Andy Barr, Valerie “Dr. Val” Fredrick and Nate Morris. Morris has since withdrawn from the race.
Democrats appearing on the ballot for U.S. Senate are Pamela Stevenson, Vincent Anthony Thompson, Joshua Blanton Sr., Charles Booker, Amy McGrath, Logan Forsythe and Dale Lewis Romans.
Early in-person voting for all precincts countywide will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday, May 14; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, May 15 and 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Clay Community Center.
Election Day voting will be 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at the four elementary schools and the Clay Community Center.
“We encourage everybody to get out and exercise their right to vote,” Clerk Chris Cockrell said.
