Deborah Ann Fritz Robinson died Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She, along with her loving family, fought hard against Alzheimer’s. However, she never lost bits and pieces of her intellect, wit, and love for family and friends. She was a vibrant person who loved swimming, hiking, kayaking, camping, arts, crafts, sewing, crocheting, games, UK and Montgomery County basketball and volleyball, traveling, the mountains and the beach. She devoted 25 years of her life to educating students in Montgomery County Schools.
Survivors include her husband of 55+ years, Jimmy; daughter, Micah and son-in-law, Billy Ray Fawns; son, Gabe and daughter-in-law, Kerry Gagnon; grandson, Luke and his wife, Allie; granddaughters, Erin and Miles; brother, Mike Fritz and his wife, Rosie; brother-in-law, Harold Routt; and many cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe R. and Pat Fritz; and sister, Pam Fritz Routt.
The community has lost a unique individual loved by so many, as evidenced by the outpouring of love and support as she was nearing the end of her life.
Celebration of life was held Friday, June 12, at First Christian Church’s fellowship hall.
There will also be more celebrations of her life and spreading of ashes at Cave Run Lake and Red River Gorge later this summer.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Red River Gorge United, Alzheimer’s Association, or Wolfe County Search and Rescue.
