Dava Kristin Brown, 46, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Danville.
Born Nov. 3, 1979, in Morristown, Tenn., she was the daughter of David Brown and Katherine Gooding. She attended Hope First Church of God and was a retired Certified Medical Assistant. She cherished her childhood memories with her beloved grandparents and spending time on their farm. She had a very spiritual nature, loved her family and her precious dog, Maggie May.
Survivors include her parents, David Brown (Sherry) of Jeffersonville and Katherine Gooding (John) of Mt. Sterling; beloved sisters, Melissa Brown of Lexington, Anita Lane (Bill) of Mt. Sterling and Jamie Bryant (Dale) of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, Greg Alfrey (Tonya) of Mt. Sterling, Chad Alfrey of Spring Lake, N.C. and Shane Razor (Dottie) of Jeffersonville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Paul and Pansy Spencer; paternal grandparents, Hobart and Christine Brown; and a very special brother, David Lee Brown aka Leroy Brown.
Service was conducted Wednesday, July 29, at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Cole and Rev. Glen Sizemore officiating. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Greg Alfrey, Billy Brown, Paul Alfrey, Shane Razor, Claude Brown and Bill Lane.
