Christine Schmidt, 94, went to her Heavenly home, Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025.
Born Aug. 12, 1931, in West Liberty, she was the daughter of Elijah and Hester May Gevedon. Until her health prohibited, she loved attending singings and services at various local churches, and was a faithful worshiper at Church of God, Morehead. She enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting and most of all, being with family.
Survivors include four sisters, Jan Thompson, Betty Vinson and Evelyn Gevedon, all of Mt. Sterling and Lee Benton of Wauconda, Ill.; children, Faron Schmidt of Mt. Sterling, Mike Schmidt (Judy) of Salem, Wisc. and Karen Miko (Chris) of Mt. Sterling; grandchildren, Gwen Schmidt of Mt. Pleasant, Wisc., Jason Schmidt of Caldonia, Wisc., Rachael Schmidt of Racine, Wisc., Tyler Cornett (Kate) of Highland Heights and Lauren Carter (Matt) of Graniteville, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Kendall Deming, Kairi Deming and Reinhold Cornett, all of Highland Heights.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 68 years, Vernon Reinhold Schmidt; and four sisters and three brothers.
Service was conducted Monday, Dec. 22, at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glen Maschino officiating. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Christopher Flaherty, Jason Schmidt, Tyler Cornett and Matt Carter.
