Charlotte J. Amburgey, 78, went to her Heavenly home Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025.
Born Dec. 27, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, she was the daughter of the late William Ford Adams and Frances Heaton Adams. She was the widow of the love of her life of 47 years, Marion “Doc” Amburgey. She was a member of Eastland Church of God, but a faithful worshipper of First Christian Church. She loved cookbooks, trying new recipes, a good meal, laughing, UK basketball and most of all her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Dee Dee Stilz (Spears) and Leigh Ann Amburgey; three grandchildren, Casey Greene (Robbie Davidson), Jacob Stilz and Hagan Stilz; a sister, Linda Bowling; and a brother, Larry Adams.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Joe Adams and Timothy David Adams.
Service was conducted Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Scott Holley officiating. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jamie Bowling, Spears Stilz, Jacob Stilz, Henry Joe Botts, Tony Douthitt and Robbie Davidson.
Honorary pallbearers were 2001-2012 MCHS cafeteria staff.
