Roger Lee Sexton, 77

Roger Lee Sexton, 77, passed away peacefully, Friday, June 27, 2025, in Mt. Sterling, surrounded by his family. 
Born April 30, 1948, in Mathena, W.Va., he was the son of the late Elbert and Hurmal Gibson Sexton. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era, and a truck driver and instructor. He was of the Christian faith. 
Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca (Daniel) Willoughby of Jeffersonville; two sons, Michael Lee (Patricia) Sexton of Campton and John Scott (Kim) Sexton of Jeffersonville; eight grandchildren, Nathan (Cheyenne) Sexton, Matthew (Kassidy) Sexton, Megan (Codie) Sexton, Brandon Sexton, Shelly (Noah) Sexton, Trevor Ward, Isaac Sexton and Luke Sexton; six great-grandchildren, and with God’s blessing, many more to come; and a sister, Gladys (Junior) Millsaps. 
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Alice Ward Sexton; two brothers, Bob Sexton and Ron Sexton; and two sisters, Jean Paynter and Phyllis Bragg. 
Service was conducted Monday, June 30, at the Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals Chapel with Chris Shaw officiating. Burial was in Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery in Jeffersonville with Military Rites by American Legion Post 22. 
Pallbearers were Mike Sexton, Brandon Sexton, Matthew Sexton, John Sexton, Nathan Sexton, Daniel Willoughby and Trevor Ward. 
Honorary pallbearers were Chris Arnett, Isaac Sexton and Luke Sexton. 
 Funeral services entrusted to the care of Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals.
