Janet Marie Koch, 72, of Mt. Sterling, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024.
Born October 7, 1951, in Alexandria, Va., she was the daughter of the late Bill and Shirley Santulla Koch. She held a Master’s Degree and worked tirelessly as an educator, leaving a lasting impact on her students and colleagues at Camargo Elementary. Throughout her life, she found joy in flower gardening, immersing herself in books, and embracing the serenity of the beach. Her vibrant personality, contagious laugh, and unwavering strength of character endeared her to all who knew her. Her selflessness shone through in her dedication to putting others first and cherishing moments spent with her family. She will be fondly remembered for her zest for life and the love she shared with those around her. Her legacy of kindness and grace will resonate in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.
Survivors include her daughters, Debryn Boyd (Robert) and Ashley Sorrell; grandchildren, Bella Boyd and Jacob Flinchum; sister, Jennifer Kennedy (Fred); special friend, John Chapman; and cat fur baby, Mickey.
Memorial service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 12 noon, Thursday, Oct. 3 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Anthony Castle officiating. Visitation is 10 a.m.-noon, Thursday.
