May 08, 2025

Delmon Lyle McQuinn, 48, of Lexington, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, March 11, 2025, on his farm in Clark County.
Born Sept. 10, 1976, he was the son of Leola Bowman McQuinn and the late Donald McQuinn of Mt. Sterling.
He graduated from Menifee County High School.  He received his BS degree from Eastern Kentucky University then went to Claude W. Pettit College of Law at Northern University at Ada, Ohio, for a year.  He then transferred to the University of Kentucky where he got his Juris Doctor Degree.  He attended U F Levin College of Law at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. where he received his master’s degree.  He was a partner with Goeing, Goeing & McQuinn law firm in Lexington.  He was generous with his help and time for his clients.  He joined the Ezel Presbyterian Church at an early age and never missed a Sunday church service or Sunday School lesson there until leaving home for college.  He was a fun loving individual, but he didn’t share his personal information or feelings with you.  He was an outdoorsman at heart.  He loved God’s beautiful outdoors.  He took pride in caring for the land and all the wildlife on his Ezel farm.  He was in the process of building lakes and ponds with various kinds of fish and was anticipating constructing a lodge so his friends and associates could enjoy a restful weekend on the farm, hunting and fishing.  He was very attentive to his mother.  He called her every other day, if to say nothing more than “Just checking on you.” He raised alpacas and gave the fur to a friend to make yarn.  His most enjoyable vacation was climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa.
Left to enjoy the memories are his wife, Kelly Jordan McQuinn; two step daughters, Hope and April; brother, Monte Edwin McQuinn; aunt and uncle, Edwina Bowman Brown and Bill Brown; and cousin, Karla Brown Humphrey.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald McQuinn; grandparents, Sylvia Easterling Bowman and Milburn and Sally McQuinn; and his favorite uncle, Donnie McQuinn.
Private funeral arrangements were provided by Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Lexington.
