School officials: unloaded handgun found in locked gun safe in student's vehicle at MCHS

Safety Update - Montgomery County High School

Today, thanks to an anonymous tip through our Safe Schools tip line, law enforcement and school officials investigated a possible weapon on campus. They found an unloaded handgun secured in a locked gun safe in a student’s vehicle. At no time was anyone in danger, and the situation is being handled appropriately.

We commend those who reported the concern and thank our staff and law enforcement for their swift action. Remember, if you see something, say something. Report any tips or concerns through our Safe Schools tip line which can be found on our school website.
