Born March 6, 1945, in Mt. Sterling, she was a woman of many talents and passions that left a lasting impact on those around her.  She was a devout member of the Christian faith, finding solace and joy in her prayers, and was a member of the Jeffersonville Assembly of God church.  Her love for cooking was unparalleled, showcasing her skills in the kitchen with her famous jam cakes and homemade candies, especially her cream candy.  Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the kitchen as she found great joy in babysitting and caring for children. Her ability to connect with kids left an indelible mark on many lives, never to be forgotten.  She was known for her fishing skills, effortlessly outperforming others with just a simple cane pole.  Embracing adventure, she enjoyed traveling to Montana and Alaska with her late husband, Irvine, and close friends.  She loved the outdoors and hunting trips.  She was an avid gardener who poured her heart into creating unique flower hybrids, drawing joy and inspiration from her blossoming creations.  Her strong work ethic was evident throughout her life.  She tended cattle and raised tobacco with her late husband, Irvine, and cleaned houses on the side.  She also worked at various local businesses, such as the Mt. Sterling Golf and Country Club, Town and Country Food Mart, Fast Track, and the old Maloney’s Warehouse.   Her legacy of hard work, compassion, and creativity will forever be cherished by those who knew her.  She also took pride in her vegetable gardens and canning the harvest.
