Shirley Coleman Brooks, 84

Shirley Coleman Brooks, 84, of Mt. Sterling, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, at the Windsor Care Center.
Born Oct. 23, 1940,  in Mt. Sterling, she was the daughter of the late James and Martha Garrett Coleman.  She graduated from DuBois High School in 1958, and retired from A. O. Smith.  She was a lifetime member of the Keas Tabernacle CME church where she served in many capacities, including Sunday School Superintendent, usher, Stewardess Emeritus, member of the Willing Workers, and overseer of the kitchen and cooking.  She was also a missionary worker for the Lord.
Survivors include nieces, Laticia Coleman of Louisville and Lolita Coleman of Baltimore, Md.; nephew, Sean (Devona) Pauley of Dayton, Ohio; two grand God children, Ravanna and Jamar Jackson; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Oldham; sister-in-law, Doris Coleman; great-niece, De-ja; great-nephew, Sean; and a host of cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son, Zachary Oldham; and brothers, James Coleman and Robert Coleman.
Service was conducted Saturday, Nov. 23, at Keas Tabernacle CME church with Presiding Elder Vincent Farris and Reverend Lisa Snorton, Pastor officiating.
Pallbearers were Michael Stevens, Sean Pauley, Michael Quinn Stevens, Derwood Blanton, James Hamilton and John Devin Blanton.
Honorary pallbearers were Fred Mason, Charlie Rash, David Rash, Ronnie Potts, Roy Hudson and Robert Hudson.
