They’ll begin the 40th District Basketball Tournament on Sunday at the Earl Redwine Gymnasium at Paris.
By having a game on Sunday it allows the district to play just one game each day and still finish the event Friday. (See brackets below)
Montgomery County High School Athletic Director Kevin Letcher said they were allowing 150 tickets per school each day that their team is playing. Although the new mandate for attendance was upgraded to 25 percent last week by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, that 25 percent number includes players, coaches, cheerleaders, etc., in addition to the parents and fans.
Letcher said he thought there would be some tickets available after parents of those participating were taken care of and if so, those tickets, priced at $7, would be available later this week and that there would be a physical ticket that individuals would purchase at the school.
The Clark County teams, both boys and girls, earned the top seeds with the Paris girls and Montgomery County boys seeded second, the Montgomery County girls and Bourbon County boys third and the Paris boys and Bourbon County girls seeded fourth.
Both the winners and runners-up will advance to the regional tournaments the following week.
