Kiwanis Club to host annual pancake breakfast fundraiser

The Mt. Sterling Kiwanis Club will hold its 65th annual pancake breakfast Saturday, April 22, in the Montgomery County High School Cafeteria.

The event, organizers say, is a community breakfast that offers great food at a great price. In addition, Anna Bach, a committee chair for the event, said attendees enjoy fellowship while supporting a good cause at the same time.

The breakfast is one of the club’s biggest fundraisers. Proceeds support 30-plus projects each year that help the youth, elderly and needy in Montgomery County, Bach said. Other committee chairs are Byron Amburgey and Darrell Mandrell.

Some examples are Boy and Girl Scouts, 4-H Clubs, Junior Pro Football, Key Club and Builder’s Club, After Prom Party, Boys and Girls State. Other projects supported by the Kiwanis Club are Easy Walker Park, the Montgomery County High School musical, school athletic awards, Leadership Montgomery County, Habitat for Humanity, Montgomery County Council for the Arts, Hope Hill, Relay for Life, the senior citizen’s Thanksgiving dinner, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Montgomery County Homeless Coalition, Montgomery County ADAPT and others as well.
The breakfast runs from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The menu will feature sausage/bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy and pancakes. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.

Tickets can be purchased from any Kiwanis member, Bach said, at most local businesses or at the door.
